Zoning Administration

Variance applications can be submitted to the Board of Zoning Appeals when the Zoning Administrator has determined that a particular provision of the Zoning Ordinance cannot be met. Variances are usually sought from setback frontage size and square footage standards for both residential and nonresidential uses. Use variances cannot be obtained.

Appeal

Applications for appeals to the Board of Zoning Appeals and the Board of County Supervisors can be filed by anyone who is aggrieved by a determination made by the Zoning Administrator. Zoning Administrator determinations can be upheld or overturned by the board hearing the appeal.
